Toni Braxton denies secret wedding rumours with Birdman
Pop superstar Toni Braxton has shut down rumours that she and rapper Birdman secretly tied the knot in a recent Mexican getaway. The speculation, which gained traction online over the weekend, prompted Braxton to take to Instagram on Sunday to address the whispers head-on.
“My dear friend @birdman and I are not married… never been married,” she wrote in a post captioned “#FakeNews.” “We are both single.”
The clarification comes after a whirlwind of online chatter suggesting the on-again, off-again couple had exchanged vows in a private ceremony south of the border. Braxton’s sister, Tamar, even playfully fueled the fire by claiming she’d been “blowing up” her phone to get the scoop.
But Braxton wasted no time setting the record straight, putting an end to any lingering speculation about their marital status. The singer and the Cash Money Records CEO have had a rollercoaster romance since 2016, marked by public declarations of love, breakups and reconciliations.
While their current relationship status may be platonic, their undeniable chemistry and past commitment have left fans wondering if there’s more to the story. Braxton’s Instagram post, however, suggests that for now, they’re simply enjoying their friendship and remaining comfortably single.
