“The same s**t”- Jimmy Kimmel Hits At ‘The Kardashians’ In Classic Fashion At Disney Upfront

No family in modern times has wielded the same influence and fascination, especially among those who claim to not like them, as the Kardashians. And as Jimmy Kimmel made his comeback to the upfront stage after a two-year hiatus, the super-loaded family once again found themselves the punchline of the joke. The ABC late-night host took aim at CEO Bob Iger, The Golden Bachelor, streaming packages, Star Wars, Elon Musk, and the staple target for comedians everywhere- the Kardashians.

When it comes to his annual monologue to Disney advertisers, Jimmy Kimmel is known for showing no mercy. And this year, he was particularly brutal. Targeting The Kardashiansthe host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! called attention to the launch of yet another season of the reality TV show on May 23rd. Promising that the fifth season is going to be a “never seen” before experience, he could not resist throwing in a sarcastic punchline, saying, “…assuming you have never seen them before. Otherwise, it is exactly the same s**t as the last 17 years.”

This came shortly after Kim Kardashian faced harsh booing during her participation in The Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix last Sunday. Nikki Glaser, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on May 7, shared her surprise at the extent of the criticism directed at Kardashian during the Netflix roast. She had believed that jokes about Kardashian would be off-limits. Nevertheless, like clockwork, the Kardashians have once again become the target of ridicule once again and the internet is reacting to it.

While some found the joke hilarious, others seemed weary of the overuse of Kardashian jokes, seeing them as low-hanging fruit for comedians.

Fans split in response to Jimmy Kimmel’s joke about The Kardashians

While Kim Kardashian and her family are no strangers to ridicule and trolling, the reality TV star saw many fans coming out in support of her following The Roast of Tom Brady incident. They not only praised the streaming giant, Netflix, for editing out the booing portion, but also called out the alleged misogynistic jokes directed at the SKIMS mogul. Even this time, many fans pointed out the recurring pattern of dragging the Kardashians into every comedic skit.
