Taylor Swift Is Inching Closer And Closer To An All-Time Billboard Chart Record
For nearly two decades now, Taylor Swift has been scoring hits on the Billboard charts. Smash by smash, all those wins add up, and she’s beaten plenty of records in her time as a superstar. This week, the singer earns another ruler, and she inches closer to an all-time best showing, which she looks like she’s getting ready to tie…and then likely pass.
“Fortnight,” Swift’s current single, rises to No. 1 on another one of Billboard’s radio rankings this week. The hit jumps from No. 2 to the top spot on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, bringing the Grammy favorite back to the summit on the list of the most-successful tracks across the country on pop radio stations that focus on a more mature sound and style.
Swift has now earned 13 No. 1s on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. That’s the second-most of all time, as well as the most when looking at solo musicians.
“Fortnight” helps Swift put more distance between herself and the woman who sits in third place among all artists. Pink is steady at No. 3 on the ranking of the most successful artists, as she’s collected 10 leaders.
Swift is moving closer to Maroon 5’s all-time record. The pop/rock band has accrued 15 No. 1s on the Adult Pop Airplay chart throughout their decades together. The pop/country/alternative star has been racking up new wins rather quickly, so it may only be a matter of time before she matches Maroon 5…and likely beats them in this regard.
In just the past 12 months, Swift has added four new No. 1s to her discography. Since last summer, her singles “Karma,” “Cruel Summer,” and “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” have all reached the summit, in addition to her latest champion. That rapid collection is aiding her rise on this all-time list of the most successful acts on this list.
Maroon 5, meanwhile, hasn’t ruled the Adult Pop Airplay chart in years. The group last topped the tally in July 2021, when their collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, “Beautiful Mistakes,” rose to the top spot.
