Taylor Swift Helps A Rising Musical Star Surge On The Charts
Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour has the singer in Europe at the moment, where she’s playing dozens of shows to massive, sold-out crowds. She just finished her first run of dates in England, and her presence in the nation has helped a rising singer-songwriter surge on the charts.
Benson Boone served as the opening act on the June 23 date of The Eras Tour. That show took place in London, and it was one of several that Swift has scheduled for the metropolis. Fans in the U.K. rushed to listen to Boone’s music ahead of his performance, and all that consumption is helping him conquer the charts in that country.
Boone’s highest-charting hit on the U.K. songs ranking this week is “Slow It Down,” his current focus. That tune jumps from No. 18 to No. 15 this time around. That’s a new peak for the second official single from his first album.
Not far behind that win comes another. Boone’s “Beautiful Things” finds its way back into the top 20, as it dances from No. 21 to No. 19. That single became the singer’s first leader earlier this year, and it helped him establish himself as a breakout star in the music industry all around the world.
The current charts in the U.K. reflect consumption from June 14 through 20. Listeners in England were clearly excited for his opening slot, but he didn’t actually perform until after that chart frame ended. He may continue to climb when the rankings are refreshed again, as the next published lists will include all sales and streams from the date he joined The Eras Tour and immediately afterward.
