Queen Camilla issued a playful warning to King Charles after revealing her husband is “getting better”, joking to guests at a royal engagement: “Well, he would be [getting better] if he behaved himself.”

The Queen, 76, has been frank in her view that the King should slow down following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

But the King has appeared in high spirits after throwing himself back into public life following the greenlight by doctors last month.

The King appeared in a buoyant mood on a visit to the Royal Opera House on Thursday night as he made a surprise appearance – which came a week after claims he snubbed Prince Harry twice on his visit to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex spent three days in his home country for the first time since February and while many expected him to meet his father, this did not happen.

A representative for the Duke confirmed that this was the result of the King’s busy schedule this week, which has seen him attend five events in 48 hours.
