Prince Louis’ heartbreakingly sweet comment to Princess Charlotte as Kate Middleton returns to public duties
Prince Louis was the centre of attention at Saturday’s Trooping the Colour, where his mum Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, made a very welcome return to public duties after taking time off following her cancer diagnosis. The young royal, six, has become known for his entertaining and lively antics – and didn’t disappoint during the celebrations to mark the King’s official birthday with his dance moves and playful behaviour.
Kate, 42, has been away from the public eye since January as she receives treatment following her health diagnosis, but she joined the royal family for the cherished military celebration, much to the joy of fans across the globe.
A lip reader has now revealed more about Louis’s day, including a touching moment when he expressed concern to Princess Charlotte, nine, about the spectators getting wet in the rain. Despite the downpour, Royal enthusiasts lined the Mall with umbrellas to see the royals, and Louis noted, “They’re going to get wet! ” while observing the rain-soaked crowd, reports the Mirror.
It wasn’t just a one-off moment between the siblings. Princess Charlotte often steps up to guide her younger brothers at Royal engagements, and the Trooping the Colour was no exception.
However, Prince Louis didn’t appear to be in the mood to be managed, according to the lip reader. Charlotte was overheard instructing him: “You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade.” To which Louis nonchalantly responded with a shrug, “I won’t.”
When his sister pressed, “Do as you’re told,” the cheeky prince shot back: “Nope!”. The adorable Louis also caught attention by yawning broadly and fiddling with a window blind cord during the military display.
Body language expert Adrianne Carter observed, “Louis is getting bored; he’s starting to mess with things,” adding that this behaviour shows Louis’s vibrant character that fans adore. “This is a sign that Louis is still the lovely and bright personality that we’ve come to recognise. Louis’s big yawn was unspotted by Kate so he was able to give it his all! “.
As the ceremony went on, Prince Louis seemed more captivated and was even seen dancing. Adrianne added: “He looks like he’s enjoying himself a bit more! Hands behind his back is something he’s obviously been told to do, maybe to help him stop fidgeting. It looks like Charlotte spotted his little dance and told him to calm it down maybe.”
