King Charles receives William’s heartfelt Father’s Day tribute while Harry remains silent
The Duke and Dutchess of Sussex didn’t make any social media posts on Sunday
King Charles received a warm Father’s Day tribute from his eldest son, Prince William, while his younger son, Prince Harry, chose a different path, remaining silent on the occasion.
William & Harry’s contrasting approaches on Father’s Day
Prince William, 41, took to Instagram to share a nostalgic photo from his childhood.
Thank you for watching
The image, taken on June 12, 1984, shows a young William playing joyfully with his father, the then-Prince of Wales, just days before his second birthday.
Accompanying the photo, William wrote, “Happy Father’s Day, Pa,” and signed the message with a simple “W.”
The heartfelt post stood out, especially as it did not include his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
In stark contrast, Prince Harry, 39, remained silent on social media and made no public acknowledgment of Father’s Day.
Reports indicate that Harry was not invited to the Trooping the Colour ceremony, a significant event in the royal calendar.
Instead, he spent the day privately with his family in California.
Neither Harry nor his wife, Meghan Markle, shared any images or messages related to Father’s Day, maintaining a low profile throughout the weekend.
Royal family celebrates Father’s Day on social media
Back in the UK, other members of the royal family celebrated the day with public posts.
Kensington Royal shared a touching photograph of Prince William with his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The picture, taken on the coast of Norfolk, was captioned, “We love you, Papa,” highlighting the familial bond.
Additionally, the royal family’s official social media accounts posted a series of throwback images of King Charles with his late father, Prince Philip.
The posts aimed to honor not just King Charles but all fathers and those missing their parents, capturing a sense of shared remembrance and respect.
While Prince Harry’s absence from public Father’s Day tributes was noticeable, it remains unclear if he reached out to King Charles privately.
The rift between Harry and the royal family has been well-documented, with the Duke of Sussex airing grievances through various media platforms, including his memoir “Spare” and the couple’s Netflix series.
This year’s Father’s Day also coincided with the royal family’s celebration of King Charles’ official birthday.
