The anti-death penalty advocate and inspiration for the Oscar-winning film ‘Dead Man Walking’ enlists the help of the reality star in her attempts to free Richard Glossip, a man on death row who is awaiting a new trial.

Anti-death penalty advocate Sister Helen Prejean is getting some help of Kim Kardashian in the documentary Rebel Nun.

In a clip from the documentary, directed by Dominic Sivyer, Sister Prejean is seen getting a text from Kardashian and then calling the star to enlist her help in the case of Richard Glossip, a man who was convicted of murder in 1997 and has been on death row for over two decades for a case that many have said was mishandled.

“I’m so honored to work alongside you. I follow you on social media and you have shown me so many cases that have been brought to my attention. Just look at what you post,” Kardashian tells the nun over Facetime. The two then strategize how to best bring attention to Glossip’s situation. For her part, Kardashian has become an advocate for criminal justice reform, speaking with governors and legislators, as well as former President Donald Trump, to lobby for clemency petitions, among other efforts.

Says Kardashian in the clip, “I’m aware that [celebrity] can have a negative effect, especially with governors who want to keep things under the radar.”
