The women’s singles event at Italian Open 2024 came to an end, with top seed Iga Swiatek winning her third title in Rome after a comprehensive 6-2, 6-3 victory over Aryna Sabalenka in the final. The total prize pool of the women’s event is $5,509,771.
Swiatek and Sabalenka met in the title clash after a thrilling final in Madrid. However, this time, the Pole was dominant throughout, winning in straight sets to win her second straight WTA 1000 title and fourth title of the 2024 season. She has now dropped only nine games across three finals in Rome.Iga Swiatek’s exploits at the Italian Open will earn her a prize money of €699,690, while Aryna Sabalenka’s runner-up finish will see her pocket €365,015. Third seed Coco Gauff and 13th seed Danielle Collins were out in the semifinals of the WTA 1000 event and will each be paid €192,405.
Former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka, seventh seed Zheng Qinwen, ninth seed Jelena Ostapenko and 18th seed Madison Keys were knocked out in the quarterfinals. They will each pocket €99,160, while the players who were eliminated in the fourth round will fetch €52,480.The women who were out in the third round of the Italian Open will each earn €30,435, while those who lost in the second round will receive €16,965. The players who were ousted in the opening round in Rome will each be paid €10,495.
