Ice Spice Blows Kisses to Crowd Booers While Performing Taylor Swift’s “Karma” at Rolling Loud Europe 2024
They say that sometimes the best response is no response at all, but Ice Spice might have found an even better alternative: a gracious, non-verbal response.
About halfway through her set at Rolling Loud Europe 2024 in Vienna, Austria, on July 7, Ice Spice performed a rendition of “Karma (Remix),” her collaboration with Taylor Swift from 2023, to boos from the audience, who also expressed their dislike for the song choice holding up thumbs down during the performance.
Instead of letting the crowd booers get to her head, Ice Spice, who seemed taken aback at first by the crowd’s reaction, decided to take it in stride and simply graciously blow a kiss into the crowd while the backing track featuring Swift’s vocals played in the background.
Ice Spice and Taylor Swift first performed “Karma (Remix)” during Swift’s Eras tour stop in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium one day ahead of the song’s official release on May 27, 2023. Ice Spice has since added the song to her setlists, performing it at Coachella 2024 (with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce showing their support in the crowd) and the first few stops of her ongoing Y2K! world tour.
Ice Spice’s Y2K! world tour, in support of her upcoming album of the same name, officially kicked off with a performance at the 2024 Roskilde Festival in Denmark. She’s since performed in Poland and Austria and will continue with a couple more festival dates across Europe before taking the show stateside for a month between July 30 and August 31.
