Emma Watson describes life as an ‘adventure’ as she shares sweet childhood photo for 30th birthday

Emma Watson celebrated her 30th birthday by sharing an adorable childhood photo of herself on Instagram.

The actress thanked her fans for their support throughout her 30 years of life, describing it as an “adventure”.

“You, out there – that have supported me – thank you. Thank you for all your kindness. Thanks for having my back.” She added.

In the photo, Watson – as a toddler – can be seen asleep on a miniature mattress, wearing typically bright 1990s colours, an orange check top and bold floral bottoms.

The actress has a lot to celebrate as she enters her 30th year, not least because she was only ten-years-old when the first Harry Potter film was released.

Her career, which has already spanned more than two decades, involved over ten years of Harry Potter films, in which she played Hermione Granger.

Since then, her acting career has gone from strength to strength. Watson played Belle in a re-make of Beauty And The Beast in 2017, as well as her role in Little Women as Meg March last year.

As well as her impressive acting credentials, Watson is a UN Women Goodwill ambassador and a graduate of Brown University. She decided to study at University after her decade-long stint in Harry Potter came to an end.

Watson was asked to be an ambassador at just 24-years-old.

Although Watson’s achievements are pretty extraordinary, she’s not immune from the feeling of pressure many 30-year-old’s admit to having.

She talked about an “influx of subliminal messaging” as she approached 30 in an interview with British Vogue.

“If you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby… There’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.” She explained.

She went viral last year after describing herself as “self-partnered”, a term which divided opinion on the internet.

In an interview with Teen Vogue, she opened up about some of the criticism she received after the statement.

“For me it wasn’t so much about coining a word; it was more that I needed to create a definition for something that I didn’t feel there was language for.”

“And it was really interesting because it really riled some people up! It was less for me about the word but more about what it meant — just this idea that we need to reclaim language and space in order to express ourselves because sometimes it’s really not there.”
