COCO GAUFF VS JULIA AVDEEVA PREDICTION
World number three Coco Gauff won her maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open last summer, on the crest of an incredible wave of form that saw her own the tour throughout August, but her most consistent major record is here in Paris with a runners-up medal in 2022 and two quarter-final exits either side.
The 20-year-old played well in Rome despite losing rhythm on her wayward serve, reaching the semi-finals before an expected exit to world number one Iga Swiatek, and it should take a truly top player to oust her from this fortnight as one of the best around at winning ugly.
21-year-old Julia Avdeeva brought a career-high WTA world ranking of 188th to Paris after some excellent work on the ITF circuit, particularly on clay, over the past two seasons. The Russian qualified well to make her Grand Slam debut here but Gauff should be too switched on to suffer anything close to an upset. Back the American to win in two.
COCO GAUFF VS JULIA AVDEEVA TIP: COCO GAUFF TO WIN 2-0
