Anne Robinson dating Queen Camilla’s ex-husband

TV presenter Anne Robinson has revealed she is dating Queen Camilla’s ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

Robinson, 79, best known for her cutting remarks hosting BBC quiz show The Weakest Link, drily confirmed the news saying: “Yes. Full stop. Mind your own business.”

The interview in Saga magazine’s June issue also covered what it is like dating as an older woman.

Mr Parker Bowles, 84, married the Queen in 1973 and they have two children together, Tom and Laura.

They divorced in 1995 and Camilla went on to marry Charles 10 years later.

In the interview, Robinson spoke about returning to dating in her 70s after being single for 17 years.

She was married to Charles Wilson, a former journalist and newspaper executive, until 1973 and her second marriage to John Penrose ended in 2007.

“I’d been out of the game for so long,” she said.

“And also I don’t drink. If you don’t drink, you’re not as reckless, are you?”

She said she was a “great believer in surprising yourself by taking risks” both in her dating and work life.

“Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If the worst that can happen is you get some egg on your face, that’s not terrible is it?”

Dating is easier as you get older, she added, saying you are much more picky about what you might “get into a tizz about”.

“Nothing matters that much.”

According to Saga, Robinson and Parker Bowles met more than a year ago at a lunch with friends but have kept their relationship under wraps since then. They both live in the Cotswolds, south England.

From June, Robinson will also be the magazine’s new agony aunt.

Camilla has remained friends with her first husband, a retired British military officer. He was among the select group of attendees at the King and Queen’s coronation last year.

The three had moved in the same social circles – Parker Bowles played polo with the King, who was asked to be godfather to his and Camilla’s first child, Tom.

On the Weakest Link, first broadcast in 2000, Robinson became famous for her catchphrase “you are the weakest link, goodbye”. The show ended 12 years later.

She was also the first female presenter of Channel 4’s Countdown before stepping down from that role in 2022.
