Coco Gauff’s quest for a first Olympic gold medal remains alive after she beat Argentina’s Maria Lourdes Carle on Monday.

The American won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1 to move into the third round.

She’ll look to continue rolling in her next match vs. Croatia’s Donna Vekic.

On Sunday, the 20-year-old became the youngest American woman to win a singles match at the Olympics since Venus Williams in 2000, when she beat Ajla Tomljanovic.

And her USA teammates impressed on Sunday as well as Danielle Collins, Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula all won their matches and advanced.

Gauff, who was a flag-bearer for the opening ceremony alongside Lebron James, is playing in her first Olympics.

She was selected for the rescheduled Tokyo Games in 2021 but missed the tournament after contracting COVID.

Her win on Monday comes after she revealed that her entire team left the Olympic village for a hotel.

She posted a candid TikTok video on Saturday, exposing the conditions the cramped conditions athletes are subjected to inside the brand new $1.6 billion facility, including 10 women sharing just two bathrooms.

And when one fan commented that she’d move to a hotel themself, Gauff revealed that her teammates had in fact left.

‘All the tennis girls moved to a hotel except me. so now just 5 girls two bathrooms,’ she replied.

Gauff noted that she’s enjoying herself inside the village, which will host thousands of athletes from around the world over the next two weeks.

‘Well it’s only 5 girls now so I have the room alone. roommates are very chill. I love it,’ she added.
