Coco Gauff’s Coach Blames Rafael Nadal’s Early Exit on French Open For Staying Adamant on Traditions

Rafael Nadal‘s journey at the Roland Garros came to an end after the Spanish star suffered a straight-set loss against Alexander Zverev. With the match ending 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 in favor of the 4th-seeded player, Rafa’s chances of laying his hands on what could have been his final chance to glory at the Paris clay ended. While this match was a pure joy to watch, there were many who were simply not in favor of the Spaniard going into the event as the unseeded player

One amongst them was Brad Gilbert, the head coach of American sensation Coco Gauff. While venting his frustration on X (formerly Twitter) he suggested that the results would have been very different had Nadal been a seeded player in the tournament. While he suggested that he certainly had chances in the second set, the results would have been different had he been seeded in the event.

“Didn’t see a lot of Vamos-Rafa match definitely had chances in 2nd set, still feel like he deserved to be seeded like 20th and could work way into tournament who knows about the what the result could have been, just my 2 cents,” said Brad Gilbert in his tweet.

Thus, Brad Gilbert came ahead and brutally slammed the French Open traditions after they did not sideways with the player that managed to land the most glory on their courts. While Brad Gilbert came ahead and sided ways with Nadal, he was not alone as many other prominent names came ahead and showed their support for the Spanish star.
