HERE WE COME’ Travis Kelce drops major hint over retirement plans after signing $34m deal and wants to be Michael Jordan of NFL
Kelce has previously admitted that he’s thought about retiring from the sport of football
KANSAS City star tight end Travis Kelce has revealed a massive clue about his future – and he has name-dropped Michael Jordan in the process.
Kelce remarked after signing a new contract worth $34 million with the Chiefs during the offseason.
Kelce has won back-to-back Super Bowl titles with the Chiefs which makes it three for his career.
The 34-year-old admitted halfway through last season that he’s thought about retiring from the NFL due to the physical play of the sport.
This week, Kelce revealed that he wants to stay in the league for the foreseeable future and even earn six Super Bowl rings – the same amount of titles that Jordan won in his iconic basketball career.
“Three more? Give me as many rings as Jordan’s got, baby,” Kelce said while laughing in an interview with Zen Water.
“That feeling in the end zone is the greatest feeling, hoisting that trophy at the end, that’s the Mecca right there.”
“Vince Lombardi (the Super Bowl trophy) at the end of the year with my teammates and my coaches and the fanbase in Kansas City, that’s what I’ve got my mind set on.
“Three more, here we come.”
Kelce also spoke about his love for the crowd noise in stadiums when he performs.
