During an interview on MS NOW, Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal claimed that every American — regardless of race — now needs to fear ICE shooting and killing them.

And then today, in the Judiciary Committee, she doubled down:

We demanded of the chairman — and I don’t think it’s going to happen, but we have to keep pushing — that there be a full accountability hearing on who these ICE agents are. Why are they masked? Alicia, why are these ICE agents masked in our cities? We didn’t even mask the agents who arrested El Chapo. Those people weren’t masked. And now you’re telling me ICE agents need to be masked when they’re out there?

I think it’s because they don’t want to be identified. They don’t want to release body camera footage. They don’t want independent investigations. They don’t want accountability.

And the American people are watching this — and they’re terrified. This woman who was killed in Minnesota — we don’t even know all the circumstances of who she was. I’ve seen reports saying she was a legal observer. I’ve also heard from people in Minnesota that maybe that wasn’t true — that maybe she was just there picking up her children. We don’t know all the facts.

But the truth is this: every single person in the United States of America — U.S. citizens, white, black, brown, whoever you are — now has to worry that an ICE agent could come and shoot at you and kill you.
